My name is Viviana and I arrived in Genoa from Ecuador 20 years ago. I initially came here for my sister’s wedding and my short trip gradually turned into my life project. Af first I felt homesick and I had some linguistic difficulties, but I also wanted to stay in Italy to try a different life. Subsequently, my intention to stay became stronger and stronger and I overcame language barriers, deciding to settle in Genoa. This narrow and ancient town, its historic district fascinated and annoyed me at the same time, because it was very different from the places I knew. Then I started experiencing this town and I fell in love with it! I worked as an educator for children and youngsters of different ages. Being an intercultural companion allows me unveiling the town and its many faces!
As an intercultural companion, I collaborate proposing an intercultural tour of Genoa promoting sustainable and responsible tourism.
